Api Himal (7,132m), is the highest peak in Nepal's Far-West region, nestled in the Darchula district. The trek, starting and ending at Makarighad in Darchula, requires a  conservation permit from the Nepalese Government and remains unconquered. This trek in Western Nepal guides you to the base camp of Api Himal, also known as  first  part Api Saipal treks.

Legend has it that at the base of Api Himal, the saint Chamaliya meditated for a long time. When he felt thirsty, the Lord granted him a spring, now known as the Chaulani River. Locals share tales of the river's origin, attributing it to tree roots called Chauleu, naming it Chaulani Nadi. Hindu mythology claims it comes from Lord Shiva's hair, known as Charmawoti Nadi, at a place called Shivadham. During the Shukla Purnima of the Shrawan month, Surma Bhawani is worshipped at Surma Sarover, followed by a week-long fair, drawing devotees from Darchula, Bajhang, and nearby districts. It's believed to cleanse sins for those who can't visit Mansarover.

The predominant Khas castes, like Bohara, Lothyal, Khagare, speak the Chhetri language and follow jatras as their main customs. These communities have a unique tradition of weaving their own clothes and wearing antique ornaments on their face, neck, hands, and legs.

This trek unfolds a breathtaking Himalayan panorama, showcasing peaks like Kap Chuli (6680 m), Nampa (6611 m)-I, II & III, Bobaya Chuli (6808 m), Jethi-Bahurani (6850 m). Despite its remote and untouched beauty, few have ventured here. Experience the warmth of locals, cross rapid rivers, and witness the Holy Lake of Kalidhunga amid stunning landscapes. The journey offers rich biodiversity, serene wilderness, pristine forests, off-the-beaten paths, virgin nature, and a mysterious culture. This venture promises a heavenly experience, navigating through extreme geographical conditions and varying elevations.

It's our pleasure to share the fascinating experiences of Nepal's Western region with you.
